Well...
It's hard to believe that it's been so long since I've written here... life just really gets in the way of things like this from time to time. And, I think, to be honest, that twitter had an effect on my posting here. I'm sure that most people that chat with me on MSN know that I almost always operate on a say it as it comes up mindset, and as an output That's kind of what twitter is like for me. But I'm back here, I don't know for how long, and I don't even really know why.
It's weird... it's like quitting smoking in reverse. I know writing on here is good (I find writing out my thoughts can be relaxing) but it's hard to sit down and find the time to pop out new stuff, or have anything interesting to say.
I think another thing that has sort of sucked the fun out of this whole blogging thing was the posting of pictures. I'm SURE there was a better way that what I am currently doing (posting pics to photobucket and then dumping the links on here), and if there's anyone reading this I'd take some recommendations!
I know that not everyone has facebook, so seeing these updates certainly must have been fun for them. It has always been fun for me to recap what I've been up to, and talk about what was interesting in my day. I'm sure I've forgotten twice as much as I remember from the last few years, and it was always nice to take a look back and see what the hell I was up to in these days gone past. Maybe that's what I'll do now... at least until I forget and let this blog run into the ground again.
I'm trying to dust this thing off. I need to write. I need to use more than just simple bursts of thought to express myself. Limiting yourself to 140 characters is like an exercise in being concise... but when you think about it, being concise is stripping down what you're saying to the base facts. U cld type in shrt frm of wrds but that shit is just too annoying. Haha, this almost sounds anti-twitter... I don't think that it is though.
I'm still working at EB, which is great. Most of the time... when I'm not working with my assistant manager. He is a shoe... one that has stepped in poop. Bear poop. SMELLY bear poop. Shit even. I can say shit on here. SHIT shit SHITE SHITTER SHITTTTTTTTTTTTTTT <-- (consonant extensions!)
One of the things that I enjoy the MOST about working at the store has nothing really to do with the work or the people or the store itself. One of the things that I enjoy the most is the drives to and from work. Usually, on a good day, they can clock in at about half an hour. It's not THAT long of a drive, and what I love so much about it is that I get to listen to my iPod and take in some fantastic music. I have made so many personal discoveries about what I really do enjoy in terms of sound and song writing in these drives, whether I'm listening to an album or tuning into a new shuffle. I was listening to some awesome hip hop the other day by Lupe Fiasco. That guy rules... there's just something about the way he raps that makes me want to listen more and more. One song of his, "Paris, Tokyo" is one of my favorite hip hop songs of recent years. I have to find some of his vinyl. It really only makes sense when you think about it... at least for me. HA! I'm a bit of an addict when it comes to picking up the stuff.
Speaking of which, I just had some new records from polyvinyl delivered this week. I got the Japandriods album "Post-Nothing" and Of Montreal's "Coquelicot Asleep In The Poppies" which I have yet to spin up. I've heard the Japandroids album a few times, and it made me happy to listen to it on record, but I'm excited to give this Of Montreal record a spin. It's supposed to be one of their best albums, but I'll reserve judgment for that; I still think "Satanic Panic in the Attic" rocks it pretty hard.
Omar, Christian, and I have decided that we need to play a show. Of course that means that we had to book one, which we did. Without a singer... or a defined set list... or a real direction. I think we needed to though. I always find that lighting a fire under my ass actually gets me working on something, and there really is nothing like a performance date to get you nervous and thinking. I've posted a few "female singer" wanted ads hoping to catch someone who isn't already working on a project to have them come fill out our sound. I don't know how it's going to work though. I guess we'll see when I send them the stuff we record this week.
I'm starting to get all droopy eyed from just sitting here and typing, so I think that I'm going to give this up for the night. I suspect that I'll be writing in here tomorrow, and maybe bringing along a few photos of a Settlers of Catan game that is in the works for tomorrow. Let's hope it actually happens.

Well FUCK,
It's been forever since I've updated this thing, but I don't really know why or what has really stopped my from doing this. I guess I just haven't really had the time lately to sit back and reflect and write about what's going on in my life. I'm kind of feeling like blurting this all out, so I'm going to just give a little update about the last month or so.
I guess I last left you all wondering what was up with me since I left for my dads (In my last post, I said that I had made it back safe and sound). Yeah, the trip was really really fun and relaxing, and I like to visit my dad (even though right now I'm kind of pissed at him. Another story though). We basically just sat around and escaped the busy life that we have (Danielle came too) here in Halifax. My sister brought her dog along, and that was kind of an endless source of entertainment because my dads dog and Brody just kept playing with each other. It was pretty cute. We also went up and saw Danielle's aunt and uncle, which was fun. I took a few photos so I can put those up (I don't really think that I have much else to through up here at this point, but I'll see once I get a look into my photos folder). It seems that there are a lot of dog pictures. Looking at the ones of Brody makes me sad though, because my mom took him to the groomer and they fucked up and essentially shaved his fur down pretty short. He looks like a fucking chihuahua.
My dad's rockin 52'
SMILE!
The last picture here is actually from the local news paper in Fredericton. My Dad and his friend had rivaling superbowl parties, so the paper did a little fluff piece on the two of them. They came and took pictures of us "enjoying a game", which was pretty fun.
Anyway, the worst part of the trip was when Danielle's car FROZE and wouldn't start. It was soooo fucking cold there that it just wouldn't go. So we had to fire up the block heater (first time ever using that) and delay the start of our trip home by about an hour. It wasn't very fun. I mentioned a problem with the car during the trip, but the freezing wasn't it. It was the fact the one of the headlights was blown out the day before we left, and I hadn't bothered to fix it just yet, but was planning to do it right before we left. On my way home from Omar's place, after recording all day and night (until about 2 am), I got pulled over in Bedford. Now I don't have the 'N' off of my license yet, so I was freaking out. But I just explained to the officer what my problem was, and he made a crack about the 'N' standing for night-time driver, and he just sent me on my way. It was a pretty close call. I had to laugh for a minute to myself on the way home about it.
Reflecting on February, it was a very busy month for me. There was a lot of snow, a lot of shifts at my retail job peddling video games, and a LOT of Street Fighter. Valentine's day was fun, Danielle and I went out for dinner and then curled up with a bottle of wine, which was nice. Oh yeah, on Oscar night I guess I pretty much was responsible for the evacuation of my friend's Chris and Jess's apartment building. WHOOPS.
In March, so far, it's been just as busy. I've had people over for the last two weekends, once was for a street fighter tourney, which was a lot of fun (I'm going to put the pictures up tonight or tomorrow). Other than that, the weeks have been packed with work and reading (I haven't played my PS3 in over a week, because I've been absorbing other media). I'm almost finished a novel by Stephen King (oh really? another one of those?) and I just polished off my refresher read of the Watchmen graphic novel. I read it years ago when I was younger, but I think I wasn't really able to grasp it for what it was back then. I'm glad I've gone through it again, because now I'm going to enjoy the movie that much more (unless it sucks, and I've not read any reviews about it yet).
That pretty much wraps it up for me today. I'm glad I got a minute to type all this in, even though it feels kind of cheap because the only reason I had time is because I slept in and now don't have time to do anything else today that I wanted. SHITTY DEAL. Oh well, at least my uncle is in town from Toronto, which I am very excited for. We hung out last night, and we're hoping to do the same again tonight.

Short Post...
I don't really have too much to say right about now. I'm pretty tired! I guess that's a start... hahaha.
We made it back from my Dad's perfectly fine, and the drive was about 500 times better on the way back than it was on the way there (once we got going that is). I have some pictures that I took while I was there, and a bit of a tale about the car. Woo. I guess this is more of a preview than and update.
Ok, here are the real reasons that I'm doing the update...
1. I'm fucking hooooooooooooooooooked on TWITTER. I've had one for a few months, but I kind of let it drop off, only to just pick it up a few days ago. It's great, I actually think that it's going to help me write more HERE, simply because I'm writing more.
Oh yes, here's my twitter feed. [edit: I now have the feed running on the side bar under my little "about me" section]
2. There's a really cool article up about Electro-Harmonix (effects pedal/vacuum tube manufacturer) on one of my favorite websites (Gizmodo), where theres a video of some guy checking out their main lab and test facility. It's pretty cool, so check it out here if you're interested.
That's all for tonight.

LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZY SUNDAYS
Yup, so that's a little weird looking. That one is for Omar. Chairman Meow.
I'm here at my dads right now, relaxing it up on the couch. It's been a pretty nice weekend so far, I haven't really done much save for the drive up. Which is a lot better than you'd think (also, there's not really a whole much to do around here). I think that I just really needed to get out of Halifax for a few days. So the drive up was pretty good, save for a few tough spots along the highway.
The trip really started out around 3:00 when I was trying to fix the headlight on Danielle's car. So, I looked at the manual for the car, and it told me I had to take a part of the bottom panel on the front of the car. So I tried. It didn't really work for me (I lack some of the proper tools). So I freaked out a little, because I didn't really know what to do to switch the light out, so I did what I could to try to switch it without removing the panel (having never done it in my life in anyway possible) but I eventually gave up.
Now, why was this switch so urgent? Well, it's not really... I'm sure the light has been out for a few weeks, but it wasn't until Thursday night that it got me in trouble. I was driving home from Omar's house (it was pretty late) when I got pulled over (I had been driving behind a cop car for most of the Bedford highway until he faked turning into the station). I was freaking out at first, mostly because I still don't have the "N" off of my license and it was preeeeeeeeeetty late. So the officer comes to the window and starts out with "Hey, how's it going tonight? I'm officer so-and-so." So I say "Hi, I'm not doing too bad", and he goes on to tell me that my light is out and I shouldn't be driving with it like that. So I explain that I knew it was out and that I was going to NB the next day and I was planning to get it fixed before I left. Then he asks for my license. I was REALLY worried at that point because I REALLY didn't want a ticket. He gives it a look, and says "Nighttime driver, eh? You know it's pretty late... oh I see you're a musician" (looking at my acoustic guitar), and I give him the rundown about how I'd been jamming, and it ran late. So he just says "Ok, well get that fixed, and drive safe". Man was I glad, fucking glaaaaaaaaad.
Anyway, back to the story. So I eventually got really pissed and gave up. I called the garage down the street from our place, and the guy said for me to come down he'd take a look. So I get there after a total of 40 minutes of trying, and the guy uses his fingers to weasel the light out without removing a single thing from the car. After about 3 minutes, he was all done. He said next time I need an oil change, I can come back. No need to pay for the light swap. Fucking right on.
Then I picked Danielle up from work, and then we were off to pick up my sister, and then it was off to the highway. We ate some supper in Truro, and then we pretty much cooked it all the way to Freddy. We got here around 10, and since then it's been pretty smooth sailing.
Anyway, the real reason that I got down to this little post was to throw up the pictures from New Year's. Here they are (sorry for the delay)...
