Hey Hey!!!!! This is probably going to take a while to load, so sit tight.

Image hosting by Photobucket

As usual, this post is another massing of photos and random shit from the last couple of weeks. I've got fuckloads of writing to do, but I also happen to have lots of pictures from: Jeff's Party in February, a random drinking night, a recording session with The Apex Beat, MONTRE-FREAKIN-AL, and St. Paddy's day at Graham's house. In total this post is packing a record-setting (for THIS blogger) 176 pictures. So clear up some space, sit tight, and enjoy yourself.

I guess I'll give a little update about me before I set off on anything else. Well, if you didn't know already, I'm no longer employed at Statistics Canada. It's a fucking drag; I loved that job SO much, and it sucks that I don't have it anymore. There's a myriad of reasons why I'm no longer working there, but really they all boil down to funding and amount of surveys. They ended up cutting half of the staff that they hired in January, and I was one of the unlucky. Fortunately though, I'm hopefully going to go work at the Hill for the summer, which will be a change for me. I think it'll be fun to work outside, and actually work with people that I know. If not, I know there's always golden, but I REALLY don't want to go back there unless I really have to.

Other than that, I've been doing pretty good for myself. I've been weighed down with a tonne of school work, and it's really starting to pile up now. My exam schedule isn't too bad. My last one is on Friday the 21st of April (Industrial Relations). The others are on Thursday the 13(Accounting) and Wednesday the 19th(Finance). My other class has no exam, but I have a huge paper due on the last day of classes. Fuck, I'm not looking forward to starting on that anytime soon. Ha.

I'm really enjoying going to the gym almost everyday. It's actually kind of fun, and I know it's doing me some good. I have to force myself to go sometimes, but I know how it's going to work out (no pun intended) in the end for me. That is, if it doesn't kill me first. Har Har.

I guess I can get a start on the tasty part of the post. Mmmm. Tasty. Right. Well, I'm going to start out with that party that Jeff had on Febuary 25th. I got pretty fucked up that night. I drank somewhere in the area of 12 beers and smoked a whole lot of shits. There aren't really a whole lot of pictures but I can say that there were quite a few people there. I know Jeff's band played, after an introduction by Mike D that brought everyone from upstairs to the downstairs.

Things are blurry aside from that and a few other moments, but I remember that I had a little confrontation with the cats in Jeff's bathroom. I went up cause there were about 65 girls crammed into the hall bathroom and, well, there was no way of telling when they might come out. So up I went. When I got in there all of the cats give me this look; it wasn't one that I could easily describe, but they basically saw me as their way of escape and were going to try and trick me into letting them out (I was really fucked at this point of the night, so that's what I believed at that point). Anyway, after drawing their attention away from the door with a piece of dancing toilet paper, I made my valiant escape. I laugh now when I think back to a very drunk Anthony closing the door while snickering and saying "suckers" to a bunch of fucking cats. Oh boy what a night. I ended up getting sick from all the beer+pizza I consumed. I felt fine in the AM though. I spent an hour in the bathroom sometime after I got home, but I guess I passed out or something cause it only felt like 10 min. Well, on that note, I'm going to stop talking about that and give you your precious pictures...

Yeah there aren't really many pictures, which explains why I got so drunk. Haha.

So I spent the following week finishing up at work and getting ready for some serious mid-term exam action. I watched a couple of movies with Danielle, but I'm not sure exactly which ones we covered during that period. I remember seeing American Graffiti, the March of the Penguins, AND The Shawshank Redemption (which fucking ruled!!!!) over that period or around there. I loves the Danielle and the watching movies.

The beauty of having a blog for a ridiculously long amount of time (pushing 3 years) is that you have the ability to see what you were doing a year ago, or in my case 2 years ago. Last year around this time, I got a chance to go see the weakerthans, which was awesome. Also, I had some rather huge obsession with napping. Haha. Not that I don't like it now, because I do. I love it. Danielle and I actually accidentally took one this evening around 10:40 pm. Haha. It's good to be curled up with her. mmmmm. 2 years ago I was bitter, working at Chris Brothers, drunk and in the mackoids. Those last two aren't supposed to be separated. Hahahahaha. I had to laugh at that last bit.

The next set of pictures bring me back to the night after my Finance Mid-term. Danielle and I hit the sauce, but in the end I was too tired to drink too much. I busted out the camera and we took a bunch of pictures of us just being rather foolish around the house. We watched some OC and played some videogames. It was a good night. Here are the pictures...

Yeah, that is that. I think I'm going to call it a night for now and finish this up sometime tomorrow.

*** RETURN OF THE MACK, 12:00 AM TUESDAY ***

Hi everybody! I'm going to get back on this trolley and try and finish up the last of this post. I think I might actually do it.

So, after THAT weekend there was another week of schooling, and I think I remember us (the Montreal crew) had a little meeting that ended up with us going back to Danielle's to watch a video of The Mackoids playing rootbeer fest many moons ago. It was a pretty awesome time. The following weekend was spent preparing for the next week which was our trip to Montreal, which I'm going to get to in just a little bit.

I spent Monday and Tuesday buried in my books and classes trying to study up so that I didn't really miss too much while I was gone. I also did an assignment pretty early on in the week, which was a new thing for me. Ha. On Tuesday night I ended up at the Dal Arts Centre taking pictures of The Apex Beat while they laid down some hot-hot string tracks. Chuck, I'm putting these up for you to take and throw onto your site! Also, I want everyone to see what was going on! So here we go...

It was a pretty good time. After that, I booked it back to my house to shower, shave, and pack. Then I went to Danielle's for the night and we watched the new Joel Plaskett DVD, which was quite fun. We tried to hit the sack early, because we had to get up at 5AM cause we were going to MONTREAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, as I said, we got up pretty early and picked up Chuck and Mike D headed to the Airport somewhere around 6:15 am. From there, we chilled and got all stoked for the trip. We boarded the plane around 7:45 and took off about half hour later. During the flight, the attendant whacked my arm and spilled coffee on me, which was kind of shitty. But I ended up getting a "here's $10 for dry cleaning, so don't sue us" slip to exchange for cash, which I did to later on. We got to Montreal around 8:30 which made our flight look pretty short (due to the time change). We gathered all of our shit up and took a cab to the hotel. Chuck, Mike, Sean, and Paul (who joins us later in this story) got the same room as the last time they were in Montreal, which was on the 2nd floor. Danielle and I had a room on the top floor of the building, which was kind of cool. I was kind of surprised that we got our rooms that early because it was at least 4 hours before usual check-in time when we arrived.

Then, we headed off in search of food. The initial idea was breakfast, and our target was Reuben's. On our way there we passed a massive church that was under construction, but you can't see because of the way I lined up the photo. Hahahaha! When we got in we all got breakfast menus, but someone asked to look at the lunch menu so mob mentality told us all to do the same. It was kind of funny, but I guess you had to be there. The waitress was nice, but she totally had an I-beam in her ass. Anyway, Chuck and Sean relished the indoor smoking and we ate some pretty good food.

After that, we decided to take the metro (which I had never done) up to St. Denis (SAINT DENNIS!!!) to shop for some records. Unfortunately, the subway that would have taken us there was closed for quite a while and we ended up walking some distance after going for a bit on the subway. This was only the first of our subway mishaps, but I'll get back to that in a bit.

Soon after we arrived at beatnik, Paul showed up and we just looked around for quite a while. Chuck and Sean did some shopping, but I couldn't part ways with my money so easily. After about 2 hours (?) we headed back to the hotel.

After hitting up the liquor store, we went to the hotel to Crash for a while. Once we woke up, we started to get our drink on before heading out.

We hit up the ATM, then got some Subway for supper. Then it was off to the stereolab show. This is where we ran into some trouble with the metro. Since we didn't really know where we were going, we over-shot where we should have gone by 3000 or so address marks. I don't know how many blocks it equals out to, but the walk fucking SUCKED!!!! Oh well, we only missed the first 2 songs of Stereolab.

Speaking of which, stereolab fucking ruled. It was the best show I think I've ever seen. The band was SUPER tight, and the drummer was just sooooo good. Everything sounded awesome, and... aaaaugh... it was just tooooo good. I took some pics of the band, but they didn't really turn out all that good based on my position. Oh well, it was still awesome! I picked up a t-shirt (not pictured), a tour-only 7", and their new album (on 2X 10" vinyl) to boot. It was awesome. Here are the pics of that business.

Yeahman. I already said it, but it really was an awesome show. Fuck!

Afterwards, we went back to the hotel to consume alcohol and hang out. Sean wasn't really feeling all that good, so he planned on staying around if we decided to go out. Eventually, we tried to go downtown, but it was too late and EVERYTHING was closed (except for some REALLY seedy strip-joints near the hotel) within a big radius. We ended up going back in and having some more drinks, and then it was off to bed after Danielle and I hit up some late night BK. It was still a kick-ass night I won't soon forget.

So, we got up and checked out of the hotel around noonish, then it was off to have a last day adventure in Montreal. First, we hit up St. Hubert for some lunch. It was prettttttttttty tasty. I wish I had taken a picture of the GIANT rotisserie that had hundreds of chickens cooking on it. It was pretty nuts. Sean could barely talk by this point and was communicating through Chuck for some of the day, on his own during other parts.
After lunch we hit up a giant HMV and then grabbed some coffee. On the way we saw some funny shit, but I decided to put those pics in the "pics of the day" section. After coffee, we went to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. We toured the WHOLE place and saw some pretty awesome art. There was this one piece made of LED's that depicted people walking down 42nd street. It was pretty awesome. I also saw a Picasso for the first time in real-life. Before we went in, Chuck met a cow.

After that, we jumped in some taxis and went to the airport. While we were waiting to board our flight, Jason and Chris came off of the plane. It was pretty awesome to talk to them after our adventure and before theirs. We all got on the plane, and after take-off I had the chance to see a beautiful view of Montreal as we turned over the city. It was quite the trip. I had a great time, and I hope that everyone else did too.

So I wish I was finished, but I'm not. There's no way I'm stopping now. I'm going to finish.

The next day, Mike and I went to see "V for Vendetta" and it was CLEEEEEAAAAAAAAN! I had a great time in the flick, and the whole premise for the movie was clean. The action was also really good. Seeing it in IMAX made it even more fun. Since it was St. Patrick's Day, we eventually got our drink on. We started out at Mike D's, with just Danielle, Mike, and myself enjoying drinks and Dave Chappelle. We walked up to Graham's party a little later in evening, where Omar eventually joined us. Everyone had some drinks and we listened to shit-loads of pop-punk for most of the night. I think Graham and I had a rap battle at one point. Ha! Anyway, here are the pictures.

It was a good time for such a small gathering. I think Creig and Ian were there for while, but they kind of disappeared after a bit. Still a blast though.

Well, I'm pretty much done for tonight. This is EASILY the biggest post I've ever done. It took me 3 hours to set up photos and host them and about another 2-3 to write it all out. Well worth though. I hope you all enjoy. I'll be back sometime soon with more stuff as soon as I live it. HAR!

Quote of the day : "Here, listen to this... Yeah, everyone needs a little "Sandstorm" [in reference to the techno song] in their lives right now." - some dude at the gym to his friend. I tried very hard not to let go of the weight machine trying not to shit my pants laughing. Fuck it was funny.
