HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Yeah, I know. It's been a while. Oh well. I guess there's no time like the present to do an update, right?
Well, I'm fresh off of what was a very awesome and fun weekend, and I've got some pictures to post, so let's get started on this shite!
So where do I begin? I guess I should start with the most recent happenings in my life. First off, I'm still working at Stats Can. However, I don't know if I'm actually going to be there over the summer so I'm still trying to figure out what it is that I'm going to do. I really do enjoy working there, and it's close to where I'll be living in a few months (I'm excited about this as well, btw), which is convenient. Oh well, I guess it's really only time that can tell.
What else is going on? Well, Danielle and I purchased a PlayStation 2 and Guitar Hero 2 a while ago. This was a good decision. The game is a hoot, and it's really fun to play when drinking or when you should be studying. Haha. We also just picked up Kingdom Hearts, which is an RPG released by Square Enix (Squaresoft at the time) and Disney. The result is an RPG that plays well, looks smooth, and features some Disney characters. I haven't played through too much yet to make a serious comment on the storyline of the game, but I'm sure it's good. Haha. It's still no FFVI, but that's a whole other can of worms.
Enough about video games though. On to electronics. Haha. My dad got me a really awesome Christmas gift. I just got it a few weeks ago (it was too heavy to ship). What was it? A Turntable with a USB output. Yes, that's right, it played records on my computer! This is actually what I'm doing right now. I'm listening to some Stereolab. Actually, to be specific, I'm listening to Refried Ectoplasm [Switched On Volume 2] on the delicious double clear vinyl pressing. Right now, I've got "John Cage Bubblegum" moving through my brain. I love it. Ha! Well, if you're curious, this is what the player looks like (and one of the records).
Cool beans. I gotta say, this thing is awesome. I have to make a tweak to the driver, so I can start recording vinyl to mp3. Then I can listen to my records anywhere when I'm not home.
So, like I said earlier, I had a really good weekend. It started on Thursday (as all good weekends do) right after work. Danielle came to pick me up from work, and we stopped by my house to pick up some stuff so I could stay over at her house. Then, we headed over to her place to watch some ER, but it wasn't on. We didn't let that slow us down however; we went for a little drive down by Tim Horton's and shimmed it up a bit. Then we went in and chilled over some tea. It was fun. Danielle and I talked about moving out (a common topic of discussion) and many other things as well. After a while, we went back to her place and played a little Guitar Hero. After a couple of rounds, we climbed into bed and turned on some music. It was good to just relax and spend the night with Danielle next to me. It gets me extra stoked for when we're going to move out.
The next morning, Danielle and I woke up and stayed in bed for about an hour or so before actually getting up. After we got ready (:P) we headed off to the mall, and then came back to my house for supper and to hang out for a bit. Jordan (my mom's friend's 5 year old) was over, so we played with him/watched tv before we took off for Danielle's place for the night (we got snowed in due to the weather). We watched a portion of "Delirious" before Christophe came down, so we helped him with an application to Video Difference.
On Saturday, I worked in the morning. After work, I went to MusicStop to get some sticks and strings. I went to the drum department and fucked around with the electric kits (as per usual) for a while. Those things are so much fun. I guess that drumming when ever I want is one of those things that I'm going to have to give up when I move out. I mean, I'll still play (I'm keeping my kit at Danielle's) and hopefully I'll be able to jam more often with people. I really do enjoy drumming.
Anyway, after I got home, I took my drum kit apart, and climbed into bed for a rest. Danielle joined me soon after I climbed in and we slept for a while. We grabbed some supper, and then headed to her house to pick up the PS2 for that evening. Then, we went to my house to collect the drums and stuff. We took everything over to Omar's, and then Danielle, Omar, and Sean went to pick up people and go to the LC. In the meantime, I set up my kit and the PS2. After everyone showed up, we got the rest of the gear set up and started jamming. We played for so long. I really had lots of fun. I play my drums as often as I can, but I don't often get a chance to jam with other people. Saturday night was just that. I was able to play music with my friends, and it was just friggin awesome. More jamming should happen. All the time. Haha. Anyway, we got jimmied and played a little Guitar Hero, and by 3am or so, I was pretty burnt out. Danielle, Dan Rodgers, and I caught a cab back towards our homes (Danielle stayed at my house). We got in and pretty much raced into bed to pass out. I had a bit of trouble sleeping because I was sore from playing drums so much. Oh well, I am feeling much better today. Danielle took a bunch of pictures with my camera and here they are.
Yeah, so that was the fun night at Omar's.
Today, I slept in late and cleaned my basement up a bit. Danielle came over after her afternoon out with her mom, and we watched a bit of a movie on tv and took a bit of a nap. Then we had supper, and went to Omar's to pick up all the gear. Steve was there, and we watched him play a round of Guitar Hero. Haha. It was pretty fun. I guess he's moving back into Halifax this month, which is cool. Then it was back to Danielle's to play some Kingdom Hearts and watch some TV. Now, I'm sitting here, listening to the newest Of Montreal album on 180 Gram vinyl and wrapping up my post. CLEEEEEAN.
I guess I'm finished now, I'm pretty exhausted from the weekend. I really enjoyed spending time with friends, and spending time with Danielle. It makes me really excited to move out with her. I love that girl. May can't come soon enough. HURRY UP! I think that's it for tonight.
GFY,
Tony I
