Man, I love putting shit off for MONTHS at a time. I guess it's finally time for an update.
At least it's getting Omar's approval.
Well I'm currently sitting here at the SMU library, and I must say, it's pretty boring around here. I've spent the last hour working on parts of my Finance assignment that is due on Friday. I'm kind of pissed because the computers here(at the library) don't have MSN, so I can't message people to further distract me from this long needed update. I have quite a few pictures to post from a number of weekends. This post is going to bring some photos from the bumpin' New Year's party at Andrews; Mike D's b-day bash at Jeff's; Sean's random get-together and; Some pics from Omar's place the other weekend. It should be quite the post. Or at least I hope so.
***EDIT: I'm also putting some pictures from the Joel Plaskett show and Drunk Bowling night!!!***
So where do I start at this point? I guess I'll go ALL the way back to the end of 2005. Har. Well as I had said before, the party went down at Andrew's place in Colby. It was a pretty good time, and everyone got pretty hammed. There was a keg, some dance party action, Chris's awesome dance move, lots and lots of other liquor, balloons, champagne, and hilarious moments. I took some pictures and I guess I should post them now. I could have gone into a longer description, but I'm getting lazy already. Well here are the pics...
***** about 6 days later *****
Well, I'm finally back at this bastard of a post. I've spent the last few days studying and reading and working and writing mid-terms (Yes, I needed all of those 'ands'). I'm glad the first bit of school has gone by so fast. I'm also glad that I'm actually learning more and working harder than ever this year. As much as I hate the time pressure, the rape assignments, and the Friday night midterms, I love it. I guess I just love school.
So, I guess it's on with the show.... Well, I guess in this case the shit-show.
So, Mike D's b-day weekend was a bash in itself. At first, I went out and met Mike, Andrew, Chuck, and Pete for some midtown goodness. After Mike, Pete, and Andrew headed for a hockey game, Danielle, Chuck, and I hit up the LC and then headed to Jeff's place. Mike and Andrew showed up around the same time we did, and we headed in to get some drink on. We put on wedding crashers and started into the slammers. Omar showed up soon after and eventually Mike started peaking, and with the aided suggestions from Jeff, we soon got revved up to head to the penny (Danielle stayed behind).
Omar, Chuck, and myself stayed outside of the club while the rest of the crew went in. Jimmied Danielle was sending me some rather hilarious text messages (mostly involving how much the Bond girls aren't as hot as they are made out to be) and what not. After the bar closed down, we walked back to Jeff's and continued to drink into the early hours. It was quite the night. Here are some pics.
So there you have that. I know it's taken a while for all of this shit to come up, but it IS quite a bit of work to do it. Not that I care. I don't mind doing it at all; it's just that time has been somewhat of a hard thing to come by over the last few months. That's why I'm stoked about reading week. I have a bunch of work to do, but I don't mind staying up late this week because I don't have to get up early at all, and that reeks of awesomeness; And that's not even a fucking word. Damn-shit-holmes, the new strokes CD isn't that good at all. There's 2 songs that I like. Sort of.
My brain is telling me to sleep, but I must forge on in order to actually get some of this done tonight. So up next is the night following Mike D's b-day, which was the hang out at Sean's place.
It was a pretty good time I must say. We all just kind of hung around, watched some tube, and (as usual) listened to some awesome music. There was some shim, and key boards and everything else. I had a pretty good time, and I think most everyone else did too. I guess it's time to post those pictures. Or is it??
Yes, it is.
I like this one a lot... It looks cool.
Yeah, so that was a good round of fun. There were more hang outs than what I've got here, but the next one that I took pictures at was at Omar's house. The party actually started out at Jeff's in Halifax, but after everyone left for the palace, we headed to Omar's to round out the night. Danielle and I were both pretty in the bag when we got there, and there was really no going half-in at this point. Lot's of drinking and smoking happened, and we had quite the party for five people. Eventually, Danielle was a little too jimmied, so she took a nap (of course I had to keep making sure she was ok, I AM a pretty good drunk watcher). I decided that it would be fun to fool around on the keys, and eventually Chuck and I were jamming; Chuck on the bass, and me on the trombone. Omar soon joined in and it was pretty fun. My lips were sore for hours afterwards though. At about 4-5 am Sean drove a sick Danielle and me home, which was awesome. Then it was bed time. I now bring you pictures....
I got creative at one point...
That brings us up to super-bowl weekend. Danielle was HO'd the next day, but we eventually managed to get up and go to Chris's party, which was pretty clean. We watched the game, ate some good food, and had some beers. A good time indeed. After that weekend, the rape really started to pour in, and soon I was really tired. oh wells. Omar headed off to Egypt last Friday, but we got to see him before he went, which was cool. I hope everything works out for him and he'll get back safe.
So, for those of you who don't know (or maybe just don't really care) BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE is coming to Halifax. I know they've been here before, but I never had the chance to see them and now I do. Sweeeeetness. Danielle and I went to get tickets on Friday, and then we headed to Mexico Lindo for some lunch. This place is awesome; they have to be one of my favorite places to have dinner (even though I hadn't been there for years up until this weekend) because the food is so good and hot (spicy in a good way, not in a hurting way).
Anyway, going back in time, I wrote a mid-term on Valentine's day. I wasn't too happy about that, but I was stoked about my dinner date with Danielle. We went to Deco for supper (I ate Duck for the first time) and then watched elizabethtown at Danielle's house. It was a very perfect night (excluding the mid-term.)
Back to Friday though... On Friday night, Danielle and I went to the Pavillion to see Joel Plaskett. It was a pretty rockin' show. He was solid as usual, and at the end of his encore, he invited a bunch of kids onto the stage. Jumping around ensued until the stage SPLIT ACROSS THE FRONT and a bunch of shit (including some people) fell. It was nuts. Everyone got off of the stage safely, and they continued playing. The crowd was going nuts at this point (crowd surfing, kicking stage lighting, screaming, and just thrashing around), and the look on Sean McGilvary's (spelling) face was priceless. Here are some of the pics...
That last one is a shot of the crack. There are some better ones on halifaxlocals, but I'm too lazy to look so I'm assuming that if you REALLY want to see them you'll look for them yourself.
So, that brings me to last night. I worked during the day, and then headed to Danielle's for supper. After supper, I headed into Halifax with Mike, Sean, and Chuck to go check out The Heavy Blinkers at a benefit show. They were AWESOME, but the MC was shitty, with a capital S-H-I-T-T-Y. He was making fun of retarded people, and making shitty eating baby jokes (I'll laugh at a good eating baby joke, but not in a room full of older classical music fans). Yeah, it was so uncomfortable at one point that Mike actually had to get up. After that business, we headed on a liquor and chicken hunt and came out with lot's of liquor but no chicken (much to Chuck's dismay). I got dropped off, and Danielle came over. We opened some beers and then invited everyone over for a bit of a pre-drink before we went BOWLING. There was a quick stop at the bridge too. IT WAS SO DAMN COLD. Anyway, bowling was a blast. We only had like 25 min to bowl, but we got a kick out of it. What an awesome time that was. After Danielle and I got home, we went to martha's for some food with my sister and then we came back to drink more beers. I ended up getting pretty drunk as you will see in the following pictures, but I was feeling fine today. Annnnd here are those pics...
At one point, Chuck ran up and bowled a ball for me and knocked over nine pins. It was pretty funny...
Yeah, so today Danielle and I went to see Curious George. I thought it was great. I also watched a theatre employee steal $22. It was interesting to see. I'm sure he won't be there any longer though, they tend to catch these things sooner or later.
After that, we went back for some supper and some church. Then it was couch moving time. Then it was TV party time. The best part of the night was when Danielle came over here and we just layed in bed and talked for like 2 hours. It was great. I hate to brag, but I love that girl.
So I guess that puts me at the end of my monster post. I'm glad to finally have this out of the way. I hope you all enjoy the pics, and I'm sure I'll do something soon and put more pictures up. Or I won't. Who knows. In any case,
GFY,
Tony I
