Another Post?

Yup, it's true. I am indeed posting again this week. This time, I've got some pictures. Take note that this is NOT my retro post, because I'm still compiling photos from the last several months (it's been a while FOREVER since I posted photos).

Today, I went over to Christian's to jam. It was pretty awesome, save for the trip there. EVERYWHERE I WENT WAS A CONSTRUCTION ZONE. EVEN RIGHT AS I LEFT MY HOUSE. AAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRUGHGHG!!! It was pretty shitty, as what should have taken me some 15 minutes took 45. But I eventually got there and we busted out the instruments. We got into some pretty bad-ass grooves, and switched up instruments every now and then to keep things fresh (I'm not allowed to play guitar any more). Some of the leftover spoils (see: beer) from gore were enjoyed. I played with Christian's drum machine for a bit, but I realized how annoying it sounded and stopped after about 10 minutes, but I'm sure it seemed longer than that to Christian and Omar.

After I got home, Danielle and I made supper, which was DELICIOUS. We had Thai chicken wings (which were spicy as all hell [especially after i added a healthy dose of frank's redhot]), rice, and carrots. Yum. Then we took one of our "best nap ever" naps, and got ready to go out. We got to the buskers around 9:00 and saw the "fire show", which consisted of a bunch of fire-related acts. There was some crazy shit, which included a girl standing on top of a guy's head (she wasn't a tiny thing either) while they were both spinning sticks of fire. It was really entertaining, and they had the crowd going wild at the end. After the show, we walked along the waterfront and ran into Danielle's friend. She hooked us up with a FREE moonlight harbour cruise! It was so much fun... I actually think it was the first time I was on a real sailboat that was on the water sailing. It was cool to watch them hoist the sails around/be at the mercy of the wind (which vanished partway through the trip. The staff was really nice too! They offered Danielle and I a blanket (much needed) so we could enjoy the view up on the deck. I took a few pictures, as I wanted to capture the moment for the blog, but I will warn you now, most of the flash-free shots are blurry as shit.

After we touched dry land, Danielle and I walked home. Now, we're eating yogourt (Danielle: plain with honey, Me: Peach) and talking about how much fun we had tonight. I think we're going out with Danielle's parents tomorrow on Pierre's boat for some fishing, which should be fun. Also, we're going to Omar's for Steve's send off party, so I'm looking forward to getting some sleep tonight. I'm gonna need all the juice I can muster for tomorrow.

Goodnight!
Tony I

PS-> I'm really glad I'm updating this so much, I hope you like the new layout (I had to adjust it so that the pictures in my older posts would be viewable), but it's come to my attention that not everybody has their resolutions CRANKED up like mine (1680 x 1050), but I've made some changes (like shrinking photos down) to help ease the pain. Let me know if there are any issues.

OH BABY!

Well, I'm back from the gym, and I'm feeling pretty good. It's only my second day today, because I did something wrong on Monday, and ended up hurting my arms or something when I was lifting weights. But I'm feeling better now, so I'll be excited to go back again tomorrow morning before heading over to Christian's to jam.

Speaking of which, I'm so damn excited to go play drums tomorrow. It's been a few weeks, but I love playing so much. The sounds that we come up with are so much fun to work with, and it always seems to go organically. If not this time, we're planning to record our next jam, so we can track out and listen to our favorite ideas, and maybe spend some time working through them.

Anyway, I've got to eat something before I take off for work, so I'm off.
RETRO POST TO COME, I PROMISE! I have loads of pictures to throw on here (I know facebook has sort of become a vacuumfor my photos, but I think there MUST be some way to host my photos and not resize them. I wonder if photobucket will auto resize? I'll have to look. Ooops, went on a bit of a tangent there.

Bye,
Tony I

PS -> This is CURRENTLY my new template until I either find/make a new one. Let me know what you think!

Of Things to Come

Hey there all.

I don't really know who is still reading this, or if anybody still actually checks this thing once and a while for pictures/little updates to my life/whatever.

Perhaps nobody considers this an "active blog". I suppose it isn't really anymore.

I think I'm going to get back into writing here again, now that I've had some time to recuperate from my life passing from one stage into another. I don't know what it all means as of yet, or where I'm going.

Maybe it is that I'm still in the phase between phases. I have a lot of things on my mind, most of which I don't think are progressive in terms of where I'm going in my life. They're not bad thoughts in any way, nor are they destructive. They're just things that, maybe I'd rather be doing than getting on with the next phase in my life, or, "growing up" one might say. It's like, I don't know, maybe I'm just trying to figure it all out right now. I've got a list of things inside my head that I want to do before I really get moving with it all.

Starting tomorrow I'm getting serious about my level of health, which some may be considered EXTREMELY LOW. I don't want to die when I'm young. I don't want to have an assortment of problems from being large (albeit, I'd like to remain in charge). I'm getting a membership at the gym at SMU. I don't know how it will all turn out, but I imagine I'll be feeling better in a matter of weeks.

What else is to come? I've yet to reveal, but I will be getting around to putting some photos of this summer up as soon as I can work out how my schedule is going to be impacted by my working out. I still want to fit all the other stuff I enjoy in as well.

I'm not going to outright ask going to ask here, if anybody reads this, to make a comment. I don't want to know who you are, so leave that blank. I just want to know if there are still people looking at this thing. Say what you want (if anything), or just say nothing of note! It doesn't really matter, as I'm likely going to keep writing anyway. I just wonder sometimes if there's anybody out there reading what I think.

goodnight,
Tony

PS-> I'm working on reconstructing my template so that this thing will look better

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

That's right, I'm bringing you another lovely production of T.I.'s blog of justice and awesome.

That's right gangster g mother fucker, it's bloggerin' time!

WEEEE-HEE-HEEEE!!!! (I have far too much energy for this time of night)

So, what am I going to start with???

SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPER MARIO GALAXYYYYYYYYYYYY!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

AAAUGH! This game is SO freakin' good. I bought it on the release day (as I was planning) and brought it home. I honestly couldn't believe the game. I avoided what reviews I could until I'd tried the game for myself, and if I had to sum it up into one line, it'd be this: "Why can't all video games be this fun, challenging, and innovative?" It's so true though. I mean, a lot of what you see out there in the current world of video games TENDS to lean itself towards violence, sports, and cars (there are some outliers, but they usually get the credit they deserve); I'm not saying that I dislike these types of games (they do have their place), but I think I'd honestly forgotten what it was like to totally become immersed into a game. The gameplay, the story (as absurd as it is) , the collectibles (in the game), and the world (or, out-of-this-world if you like [I do!]) designs are so well sewn together that it was easy for me to get sucked in and love every second of it. I've collected somewhere around 55-60 of the 120 stars in the game, and I know I'm going to want to beat it at least once more (more or less because the second time through you get to play as Luigi!). I could keep going, but I think seeing the game itself would do a better job than my description.

But before I continue on, I will note that the game has scored no less than a 9 (out of ten) on most all of the high-traffic video game review sites (not that this always matters, but when the critics align around the high end of the scale, people tend to pay attention). Also, one particular site actually gave the game a score of 11/10. I think it was to grab attention.

Okay, moving on I suppose.

I got this neat collectible coin with my pre-order

and I went ahead and had EB make good on their one year "return it for no real reason" warranty on my DS for this baaaaad mother fucker.

Yeah, I'm sorry about that.

So now that that is out of my system, moving on to what I did last weekend.

As some of you know, Danielle and I went up to visit my Dad in Fredericton accompanied by my sister and her friend Erin (who shares a similar sounding but differently spelled last name, so she was incognito). We started on our way late Friday afternoon, and got there in alright time. I drove for the first bit, but it wasn't the easiest since it was raining on and off, and (most likely the worst part of the trip) I had a brain splitting migraine. Once we got to Truro (which REEKED of cow poo on our way out AND on the way back - except for a 2 meter radius around the wendy's where we stopped for supper on Friday that smelled of grease [I've dubbed this the "Baconator Effect"]) we ate, and Dale took the wheel for the remainder of the trip. After almost running out of gas between Gagetown and Oromoncto (the gas light was on for at least a half hour while we were going about 120 Km/H) we managed to stop and put a little fuel in for the last bit of the trip. We got to my Dad's and kicked our feet up, and did some homework. Then it was bed.

Saturday was a blast! We got up, had breakfast, and got ready and goofed off around the house for a bit.

Then it was off to the mall. And if you didn't know, that's pretty much the only thing to do in Fredericton during the day: Go to the mall. Even if you want to go see a movie, you have to go to the mall. Not that that's a bad thing, I like the mall there. We walked around, and I pondered some gifts to be getting people for Christmas while Danielle did some real shopping. Eventually, we met up with Patrick while Jessica ran off with her friend. After we finished up at the mall, Pat, Danielle, and I headed to Pat's place to hang out for a bit. We jammed for a bit, and then kicked out some weird experimental jam. Haha.

After we picked up Jessica and Erin, we went back to my Dad's for dinner. We had tacos, which my Dad made up from scratch (no packaged seasoning for that guy), other than the shells/wraps. He made guacamole too, and it was so face-meltingly good. So we all sat and ate and talked and it was really fun. I'd even go as far as to say it was my favorite part of the trip.

After dinner, we played Cranium (Canadian Edition). It was really fun. Danielle and Pat won, those dirtbag cheaters.

For the rest of the night, we just kicked around the house and talked with my Dad and Elizabeth.
Sunday rolled around, and Danielle and I spent the majority of the morning playing with the dog, whom we tired out. We took off around 1:30 and stopped for lunch at the Silver Fox in Salsbury. What a fringgin Big Stop that place is. The food was pretty good. Look, more pictures!

I was honestly going to take pictures of what we ordered, but I got caught up in how good it was that I forgot to. I drove the whole way home, which was officially the longest drive I've ever made. Ever. As we were going through the Coboquid Pass (which should be studied for it's unique and scary weather patterns, IMO) we hit a serious amount of snowfall for such an otherwise clear drive home. We were going as slow as 70 KM/H for a good 20 minutes with little-to-no visibility. I was really scared that the rest of the drive was going to go like that, but once we were clear of the toll booth and we had driven about 2 minutes (holy fuck my laptop battery almost died. that would have sucked.), it was back to the high speeds. Also, I'm pretty sure the cruise control on the car actually saved Danielle and I a quarter tank of gas. We got home safe (as I'm NOT writing this from beyond the grave) and in good time too! That night, Danielle, my Mom, Jessica, Jennifer (daughter of the old woman my mom takes care of daughter), Jo-Jo (Jennifer's daughter) and myself went to see August Rush, which was good. I like music based movies. All in all, it was honestly just a relaxing weekend. I slept well, got to see my family, and I had a lot of fun.

Well, I'm done here now. I can't believe I got through all of this in one sitting. Tomorrow brings work, as does Friday day. Danielle and I will be taking in the Feist concert on Friday night, and then on Saturday, Danielle is leaving for TO. Things are in the works for Saturday night (because a double birthday weekend IS a cause for celebration).

GFY,
Tony I
